Irish Outlaw Closes Camp, Prepares for May 25th

Ryan ‘The Irish Outlaw’ Coyne (19-0) held his final sparring session from his training camp at Tyron Woodley’s ATT Evolution in St. Louis this past Friday as he readies to return to the ring on Friday May 25th at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, MO.

Under the watchful eye of trainer and former three time heavyweight world champion, Michael Moorer, Coyne exhibited an arsenal of crisp punches and methodical footwork for the small crowd on hand at the Rock Hill training facility.

The Southpaw duo of Moorer and Coyne teamed up as trainer and fighter in the in the fall of 2011. After several successful training camps together, they look to embark on active and methodical fight schedule as Ryan looks to make his mark in the more fruitful and visible light heavyweight division.

While unblemished in the ring at 19-0 and bolstering a #3 world rating with the World Boxing Association, the young Irish American contender has fallen victim to a difficult streak in the past year that has seen numerous opponents pulling out of fights on short notice, stalled negotiations, and promotional issues that have manifested in the Ryan taking an undue absence from the ring.

In his first ring outing of 2012 and first bout in the Gateway City in nearly a year, Coyne takes on former United States amateur champion and armed forces champion, Julius Fogle 15-6. Fogle enters the bout on a losing streak having lost to high level opposition, but brings a wealth of experience having faced former World Champions Jermain Taylor and Jeff Lacy as well as current super middleweight World Champion Andre Ward in the amateur ranks. The experienced Fogle, while past his best days, is certainly no push over and looks to provide a stern test for the rising contender as he ends his short hiatus from the ring with several high profile bouts looming in the fall.

Irish Outlaw Boxing invites you to join us ringside this Friday May 25th 7:00PM at the Ameristar Casino as Ryan resumes his pursuit of the light heavyweight world championship.
